Guitarist Ryan Helm Leaves Demon Hunter
Extra, extra! Read all about it, fuckers!
Yup. It appears Demon Hunter are down a duderino…at least that’s what a press statement from the dude’s management claims.
Guitarist and back-up vocalist Ryan Helm has officially announced his departure from Demon Hunter, who are signed to Solid State Records.
Helm first joined the band back in 2009 to replace Don Clark on guitar, and during his tenure, released one album with the band.
“Helm has stated that the departure was inevitable; however it was on good terms,” the statement from the manager reads. “He plans to primarily focus on his solo project, Damien Deadson.”
Wait — is this dude pulling a Thomas Giles here? He’s going to release an album under a different name. Why not just release it as Ryan Helm, bra?
Helm’s solo album, as Damien Deadson, will see release in January 2012.
I, for one, will not be waiting with baited breath for its impending release. In fact, after I finish typing this sentence, I will likely all but forget about Helm and Damien Deadson.
