Coachella 2012 Lineup Announced – Black Keys, Radiohead, Dr. Dre and Snoop Dogg Headline
It’s started… we’re barely into 2012, and already the major music festivals are starting to announce their lineups. First unto the breach is Coachella, and if their 2012 lineup is anything to go by then this should be a great year for live music.
This year marks the first time that the Coachella Festival will be held across two weekends, with the lineup being repeated the second time around. That may sound a little weird, but it does mean that you have even less excuse for missing out on the year’s first major music festival – and if you really love it, you can always go twice. In 2012 Coachella takes place on Friday April 13 – Sunday April 15, then again on Friday April 20 – Sunday April 22, and tickets are available here.
As for that lineup, it has exactly the kind of depth that you’d expect from one of the country’s premier festivals. The Black Keys will headline both Fridays, Radiohead will headline the Saturdays, while Dr. Dre and Snoop Dogg will close out both Sunday shows. Beyond the headliners, however, there’s plenty to get excited about, and you’ll want to rise early whichever day you’re going. Highlights include the Arctic Monkeys, Noel Gallagher, Florence + the Machine, Wild Flag, Band of Skulls, Fitz and the Tantrums, The Big Pink, and a reunited Pulp, but there’s something on the lineup for everyone. There are plenty of newbies making an appearance too, including The Vaccines, Sleeper Agent, Yuck, and Rolling Stone cover competition winners The Sheepdogs.
