The Arden Theatre Company continues its amazing 2011/2012 season with the upcoming “Clybourne Park”, set to officially open on February 1, 2012. “Clybourne Park” is a comedy that tells the story of a house, a neighborhood, and the people who have come and gone over five decades. Directed by Edward Sobel, “Clybourne Park” will appear on the Arden’s Arcadia Stage.
“Clybourne Park, though set in Chicago, reflects all cities and communities today struggling with change. The play skewers what happens when we are blind to the reality of how territorial we actually are,” said Sobel, who is also the Arden’s Associate Artistic Director.
“Clybourne Park” stars Ian Merrill Peakes, David Ingram, Steve Pacek, Maggie Lakis, with the following making their Arden debuts: Julia Gibson, Erika Rose, and Josh Tower. Each actor will play multiple roles in the show, and will make complete reversals between the two acts.
The final dress rehearsal of “Clybourne Park” will be on Wednesday, January 25 at 8:00 pm, and is open to the public as a ‘Pay-What-You-Can’ performance. All proceeds collected will be donated to East Mount Airy Neighbors and West Mount Airy Neighbors. Previews for “Clybourne Park” start Thursday, January 26, and run January 31. Opening night is Wednesday, February 1, 2012 at 7:00 p.m. Closing is set for March 25, 2012.
