Packing Your February Concert Calendar? Anthony Green Announces Seattle Tour Date
The next thirty days are looking to be incredible thanks to the great music heading to Seattle. We’ve already announced shows featuring artists such as Mat Kearney, Ruthie Foster, Satchel, and In Flames heading to our emerald city in the very near future, and get ready to add another to your must-see concert calendar.
Have you heard of Anthony Green yet? Check out his website here right after you finish reading this. I stumbled upon him recently while scanning the Neumos concert calendar and have had his album Beautiful Things on repeat since it was released on January 17th. You can stream the album in its entirety on Green’s website and it’s also available to the masses on iTunes.
For those of you (like me until a week ago) unfamiliar with Anthony Green, you may actually be more familiar with him than you realize. As a member of the Philli based Circa Survive, Green has toured and seen the world. When he released his first solo album, Avalon, it was met with acclaim. The same is true, and even more so, with his latest full length work, Beautiful Things.
The album was released last week, and I can guarantee you that it will be the soundtrack to my spring. The record is hard to pin down in terms of genre as it’s not typical indie-rock.  There are songs that remind me of classic country, as in the days before Taylor Swift. ‘James’ Song’ has a haunting quality that reminds me of Bob Dylan. ‘Big Mistake’ seems like it would be the perfect fit for a dive bar in New Orleans. From start to finish, as all over the place as it can seem to be, every song is simply incredible.
He has just released his latest round of tour dates, and in whichever city you reside there is probably a show nearby. Starting in Tennessee, weaving through the Southwest, making his way through California and the Pacific Northwest, and ending in the Midwest and East Coast, Anthony Green is taking the country by storm.
So, what are you doing February 15th? The answer should be seeing Anthony Green at Neumos. Doors open at 7:00pm and for just $16 you can see Kay Kay and his Weathered Underground, The Deer Hunter, and of course my favorite discovery of the month, Anthony Green.
