Save Our Souls

Save Our Souls
So, about a month ago, an old friend of mine (she’s not old, but our friendship is…which makes her sound old, but she’s not) contacted me about her friend’s band — a band I just had to hear.

I get email like this all the time, so I kind of shrugged, and told her to have her pal contact me. Soon enough, someone from Save Our Souls — a progressive metal band that met in New York but now call Los Angeles home — emailed me. We got to talking, and they sent me a few tracks.

Let’s just say my friend was right — you have to hear this.

If you dig Meshuggah, you’re going to dig Save Our Souls. At the end of this post, check out two tracks from Save Our Souls’ debut EP, and try to tell us you didn’t dig it.

Formed in 2010, Save Our Souls consists of singer George William, guitarist Julian Ken, and drummer Jason D’Amelio.

Since forming, Save Our Souls has opened for Iron Maiden, The Smashing Pumpkins, Slash, God Forbid, 40 Below Summer, Candiria, Dave Lombardo of Slayer, Kittie, Glassjaw, From Autumn to Ashes, Boysetsfire, Steel Panther and more. They’ve even played at the Playboy Mansion. Lucky bastards.

Seriously. Listen to these tracks from Save Our Souls, and tell us what you think in the comments section below or on Facebook.
