Joan Rivers dishes post-Oscar dirt at Benaroya Hall, Feb. 29
If you ever watch Joan Rivers’ Fashion Police TV show after an award show like the Golden Globes, you know that she regularly shocks her co-hosts with her no-holds-barred jokes about the celebrities and their fashion choices. They are constantly covering their faces in amazement.
It’s one of her trademarks, her barbs. And it seems no one is safe from getting stuck by one. Having lived there for most of her adult life, it seems like her celebrity neighbors would walk on the other side of the street if they saw her coming. Of course, no one walks in Los Angeles, so I guess that’s not an issue.
Perhaps you don’t know that she has also been Tony-nominated as an actress, has two best-selling books, has an Emmy Award for being a television talk show host, has written plays and movies, and sells all kinds of personally designed jewelry on QVC.
Her career on television took off in 1968 when she appeared on The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson. In 1989, her daytime television show, The Joan Rivers Show, won an Emmy Award for Outstanding Talk Show Host and she received her own star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Joan has been critiquing fashion on television since she started hosting E!’s red-carpet events in 1996.
You might not know, however, how involved she is in getting the word out about bone health and the fact that she has been the ambassador of the National Osteoporosis Foundation for years.
Still we in Seattle are going to get her live and in-person, February 29th, to dish about what happened at the Oscars. And we can probably bet that we’ll be covering our mouths not believing she can actually say these things and get away with them.
