Comedian H. Jon Benjamin will be at Barboza (the new venue under Neumos) on April 28th. Also on the bill will be Leo Allen and Nathan Fielder, along with special guests. Tickets are $15 + fees in advance, and are available here.

You know Benjamin from basically anything funny that’s animated in the last couple of decades. Starting with being Dr Katz’s slacker son Ben on Dr Katz, later voicing Coach McGuirk on Home Movies, he’s added his distinctive timing and voice to many well-loved programs. More recently he’s voiced Sterling Archer on the show Archer, Bob Belcher on Bob’s Burgers, and he’s starring in the live action show Jon Benjamin Has a Van. From that we get why he’s coming to town: Jon Benjamin has a Tour,

Benjamin’s tour will only stop in seven cities: Boston, Washington DC, Portland, Seattle, Los Angeles, Chicago, and finally Brooklyn. It’s a short tour. We’re one of the lucky cities.

It will be interesting to see what he does at this live show. Presumably the performance will focus on Benjamin’s travel show, but who’s to say exactly what that means. Perhaps there will be a panel discussion, perhaps it will be a variety show. It’s hard to say. Benjamin isn’t a stand-up comedian per se. His comedy is more experimental, conceptual. Expect the unexpected with him at Barboza on the 28th. One thing you can count on is that the show will be funny.

More details on this in the coming days comedy fans. In the meantime, get your tickets. You know you don’t want to miss this.
