Live Arts Festival Seeking 200+ Philadelphians for Public Dance Performance on the Parkway
Attention Philadelphia-area dancers (or those who want to be)! This announcement is for you! The Philadelphia Live Arts Festival is looking for over 200 people to dance in Le Grand Continental (from the mind of Sylvain Ã‰mard), which is a 30-minute contemporary live performance that “displays the talent, charisma and personality that characterizes the city.”
You don’t need dance experience, and applicants can be of any age or background. The public dance performance will be presented at the Art Museum Plaza at the end of the Parkway as part of the 2012 Philadelphia Live Arts Festival on September 8 and 9. It will be the largest work in the Festival’s sixteen-year history.
You can learn more during two information and recruitment sessions on Tuesday, May 15, and Wednesday, May 16, from 7 p.m. â€“ 9 p.m. at the Live Arts Studio located at 919 North 5th St., Philadelphia, PA 19123. Participants will be rehearsing two nights a week from July 9 â€“ September 7, including a final dress rehearsal.
