For me, May means that Summer is almost here. And nothing to me says summer like light, breezy music – which happens to be the specialty of Delta Spirit as featured in their latest album.
When listening to one of their previous releases, or hooked into their most recent self titled album, your eardrums are taken away from the gray skies that become the norm in Seattle and it’s easy to imagine driving down highway one towards this band’s hometown, Long Beach, CA.
Their latest album catapults from where their original left off - inducing new feeling of rock into their previous more folk based material. Fans new and old can unite around their latest album; it’s a new direction that is a breath of fresh air into the heavily folk-centered music scene we’re in the midst of.
Somehow, tonight’s show has yet to sell out. How, I have no idea. They’ve been playing shows that have been wildly popular in cities all over the place, so tonight’s show should be a treat for Seattle audiences. Rated by many blogs across Seattle as a must-see this week, I completely agree that this is undoubtedly how you should spend your Friday night.
Tickets are available on the brand new, sparkly, new Neumos website for $15- get them here now before doors tonight, where they’ll cost ya a bit extra. Openers Waters and Tijuana Panthers are opening, so keep in mind when planning your night that doors are at 8pm, and this a 21+ event. So grab some sunscreen and forget about the fact we’ve been a washed in grey skies- watch their video for California below, and I’ll see you tonight!
