“Would you like your Mocha Cookie Crumble with whole or nonfat milk?”

Mocha Cookie Crumble

It felt like asking if I wanted to consume 2,5000 calories or, merely, 2,499.  I jest, in reality, a grande Starbuck’s Mocha Cookie Crumble Frappuccino, made with whole milk and all the decorations is only 480 calories as opposed to its nonfat counterpart, which weighs in at 320.  I was celebrating Wednesday though, so I went ordered the drink as it was created: whole milk, regular syrups and sauces, chocolate whipped cream, and cookie topping.    Go big or go home, I always say, and since I had already ordered and paid, there really wasn’t a good reason to go home empty handed.

The Mocha Cookie Crumble is composed of Starbucks’ signature coffee based Frappuccino mix, mocha sauce, vanilla syrup, chocolate chips, milk, blended with ice, then topped with fresh chocolate whipped cream and chocolate cookie crumbles.  In you’re caffeine sensitive, a version without coffee, the Chocolate Cookie Crumble is available, as is a lighter option.

Poet Sarah Kay once wrote there was no problem chocolate couldn’t fix, (then later admitted there were a few problems unchanged by chocolate).  This drink is for the problems whose solution begins with chocolate.  The Mocha Cookie Crumble is basically like drinking a chocolate chip cookie that has coffee in it.   The only major complaint is the chocolate chips that come as either an inconvenience or surprise when you’re drinking through a straw. This conundrum, however, easily overcome though simple actions of chewing and swallowing.

The grande costs around $4.85 before tax and is available at all locations with blenders. (This usually excludes the places that only “proudly brew Starbucks coffee” as opposed to actual Starbukcs retailers.)  It contains 75 mg of caffeine and 48g of sugar, which I like to believe fall out during the blending process, though this opinion is neither proven nor approved by medical professionals or the  Starbucks corporation.  Visit www.starbucks.com or download the Starbucks App to find the Starbucks closest to you so you experience this liquid joy for yourself.
