The US Open brings the excitement of NASKA and ISKA competitions to Orlando's Walt Disney World Coronado Springs Resort: (L) ISKA World Championship Stage streamed live on ESPN3 and highlighted on ESPN2; (R-top) Debut of “Clash Sparring” in 2012; (R-bottom) Backstage Fun with Champions.

The 2012 NASKA (North American Sport Karate Association) season rolls into Orlando, Florida via Masters Mike McCoy, Mike Sawyer, and Cory Schafer’s US Open World Martial Arts Championships at Walt Disney World’s Coronado Springs Resort in Orlando Florida from July 13-14, 2012.  The competition will begin on Friday, July 13th, continuing the following morning through the evening finals competition on Saturday, July 14th.  As with all NASKA World Tour competitions, the 2011 US Open will feature NASKA divisions in forms, weapons, and point sparring divisions.

The signature element of the US Open is the ISKA (separate organization from NASKA) World Martial Arts Championships held on the Saturday Night of Champions, which will be streamed live via on July 14th (starting at 8pm EST) and rebroadcast on a highlights show on ESPN2 on August 3, 10, and 17th (times TBA)!  The ISKA World Championships includes individual competition in forms and weapons from NASKA’s top competitors, a variety of individual sparring and board breaking divisions as well as team competitions in forms, weapons, and self-defense.

Just announced are the finalists who will be competing for the 2012 ISKA Titles in Forms and Weapons as announced by Tournament News Online’s website.  To view the ESPN3 replay of the entire live broadcast, click here.

In addition, the US Open will also feature Continuous Sparring, self-defense/team events, board breaking, sport mixed martial arts (MMA), submission grappling by NAGA, and the new Clash Sparring.

Also taking place at the event are opportunities to learn from leaders in their respective fields though camps and seminars.  The camps are “Camp Chat Transformation” for extreme and creative forms/weapons with XMA Founder Mike Chaturantabut and “Real Deal Seminar” for point sparring with open martial arts sparring superstar Raymond Daniels.  “Camp Chat” will run from 9am-4pm on July 11-12 and will cost $349; “Real Deal Seminar” will feature three 2.5 hour sessions from 9am-9pm on July 12.  For more information and to sign up, click here.
