Today, my friends, is a good day. We’re less than 24 hours from the weekend, and — why, look at that! We have a song stream from Wellington, New Zealand’s Beastwars.

Who, you ask? Well, if I had to describe them, they’re sludgy stoner metal. They’re like the best parts of Mastodon crossed with Motörhead. Yeah…that good.

You may have caught their video recently on Metal Injection. If not, why not head over there and tell the guys we said “‘Sup.”

Beastwars’ debut full length will be available for the first time outside of New Zealand in September, when the self-titled disc drops in North America and the rest of the world.

North Americans will get it September 11, with everyone else getting a 24-hour jump on us.

Fans in their native New Zealand have had the outing for over a year. Thus far, the guys have supported the likes of The Melvins, Kyuss Lives!, High on Fire, Kylesa, Black Cobra, Fu Manchu and Helmet.

According to their Facebook page, they live by this simple motto: “Obey the Riff.”

And obey, they do. Check out this cut, and tell us over on Facebook how rad you think it is.

so i actually read the post and seen as their debut hasnt even breached the borders of new zealand yet, i guess the post seems appropriate. that being said, for us who mostly live on the interweb to catch new music through outlets like bandcamp, beastwars have been around awhile. i read your shit everyday, it gets me up in the morning, if you knowwhatimean, and i want a shirt. a free one. so. you know.
