Snoop Dogg Returns to Seattle on July 22

On Sunday, July 22, “Snoop Dogg” will return to Seattle to perform at Showbox Sodo in collaboration with KUBE 93. The event begins at 7:00pm and features Northwest natives Jay Barz and Dyme Def as opening acts. The show is part of a tour following the release of Snoop Dogg’s Doggumentary, the latest in a long and illustrious career in West Coast rap. Tickets are available here.

Snoop Dogg has been a national staple in the hip hop community since the 1990s. Since the launch of his album Doggystyle in 1993, Snoop Dogg’s name has become one of the most widely recognized names in hip hop. Snoop Dogg’s notoriety rose as he made his television and movie debuts, and his skinny frame and “chill” demeanor have become as recognizable as his distinctive name. Snoop’s latest album is an overdue sequel to his original Doggystyle, and has already provided several singles that circulated on Top 100 lists, including “Wet” and “Boom”. The album, which is the focus of his current tour, is an example of Snoop Dogg’s distinctive style; the album includes examples of both Snoop’s laid-back style and his more sexual popular hits. The album also features a mix of artists, including Seattle native Jake One in addition to popular artists like the Cataracs and the Gorillaz. Although Snoop Dogg will be performing an individual set, his personality and famous songs promises to draw a large crowd in Seattle.
