Martial Foodie's Martial Arts Post: US Capitol Classics & China Open August 3-4, 2012

The US Capitol Classics & China Open brings the excitement of NASKA and Chinese Martial Arts competitions to the Washington, DC area.

The 2012 NASKA (North American Sport Karate Association) season rolls into the nation’s capital via Tien Shan Pai Grandmaster Dennis Brown’s two-tournaments-in-one: the US Capitol Classics & China Open, held at the Gaylord National Resort and Convention Center along the Potomac River in National Harbor, Maryland from August 3-4, 2012.  The competition will begin on Friday, August 3rd, continuing the following morning through the evening finals competition on Saturday, August 4th.

As with all NASKA World Tour competitions, the 2012 US Capitol Classics—one of the four 6A-rated “Grand Slam” events—will feature forms, weapons, and point sparring divisions.  Also taking place at the event are Continuous Sparring, SuperFights, Self-Defense, USBA/WBA Breaking, Martial Arts Tricking, Point MMA, and Fitness Challenge.

The second tournament within the US Capitol Classics is the China Open, an all-Chinese Martial Arts tournament featuring individual forms and weapons divisions for Contemporary Wushu, Traditional Kung Fu (including separate Tien Shan Pai divisions), and Internal Martial Arts such as Taijiquan (Tai Chi).  There will also sparring divisions for Wing Chun and Push Hands.
