Seattle Premiere Of REC 3: Genesis At The Grand Illusion
Your wedding day is supposed to be a happy occasion, right? What about when the zombies show up and wreck up the joint? What do you do then? Well, if you’re marrying the heroine from Paco Plaza’s REC 3: Genesis, you stand back and watch her carve apart those undead bastards with a chainsaw.
If this sounds like damn fine time, you should check out the Seattle premiere of REC 3 at the venerable Grand Illusion Cinema. The film screens at 11pm Friday, September 7 and Saturday, September 8, and again the following Thursday, September 13, at 9:30pm, and Friday, September 14 at 11pm. All screenings are in Spanish with English subtitles.
Here’s a synopsis:
Koldo and Clara are about to celebrate the most important day of their lives: their wedding. Everything seems to be running smoothly, until someone mentions that fateful dog bite from the first two films. Soon, zombies take over, bride and groom are separated, and blood spatters the walls.
The third film in the series, REC 3 shies away from the straight up horror, opting for over-the-top camp and gory black comedy. It also thankfully eschews the gratuitous shaky cam aesthetic, as well as the previous reliance on the found footage angle.
