Andy Boyle: Indecision In The Fall Of Too Many Choices

Andy Boyle
Last week, you all heard me bemoan the fact that I couldn’t decide which pre-order package of The Sword’s new album I would purchase (I think somebody should name their band Bemoan).

Well, I regret to inform you that the situation here remains bleak. I am presented with the odious task of having to decide which upcoming shows I will be attending, and which I will sadly not be attending.

I haven’t been to a show in a few months. Since the birth of my son in June, I’ve been somewhat busy. I love the little guy more than anything else in the whole world, but now it’s time for Daddy to rock! Unfortunately, I don’t think I can go to all of the shows that I want to.

Even if I could afford it, there’s also the matter of my job. Working in a restaurant, I work late into the evening a lot of days. I don’t get to just punch out at 5 and go do whatever I want then. And then there’s my family. They need me too. And I’m more than happy to do whatever it takes to provide for them and make them happy.

So now I have some choices to make. Short of creating a big spinning wheel like a game of chance in some townie bar, or throwing rocks through windows of Downtown St. Paul skyscrapers, I have no idea how I’m going to select which shows I’ll be attending. And the list below isn’t even all the shows coming to town that have sparked my interest. Those are just the ones that I seriously want to go to.

Oh, well. At least I got to see Mastodon and Behemoth earlier this year.
