We all know that Seattle is a major hub for live music (clearly), but even so it often takes a year or longer for bands to cycle back round to the Northwest. In the case of British artists, you can double that.

For fans of British singer-songwriter Laura Marling, however, there’s a treat in store. Marling played the Showbox as recently as June, but now she’s back again, on what’s been dubbed The Working Holiday Tour – and this time it promises to be a uniquely intimate experience. Marling will be playing the Columbia City Theater on September 27, 2012, and we have THREE pairs of tickets to give away to our readers.

If you’re not familiar with Laura Marling, then it’s about time you put that right. Marling embarked on her musical career at the age of 16, when she moved to London and became part of the ‘Nu-Folk’ scene that also launched Noah And The Whale and Mumford & Sons. Marling has also been romantically linked to the lead singers of both bands, but don’t hold that against her. Her debut album Alas, I Cannot Swim was released in 2008 – when Marling was still only 18 – and is one of the most moving and balanced folk debuts in recent memory. It’s no coincidence that of her three albums, two have been nominated for the prestigious Mercury Music Prize, and her latest, 2011′s A Creature I Don’t Know, won her the Best Female Solo Artist prize at that year’s Brit Awards.

Tickets for Laura Marling at the Columbia City Theater are available now from the Showbox website, priced $20 plus fees. The show takes place on September 27, 2012, and doors open at 8.00pm.

If you feel lucky, however, then why not enter our ticket giveaway? Just tell us the title of Marling’s second album in the comments field below, and we’ll enter you into our giveaway. Three winners will be chosen at random to win a pair of tickets to the Columbia City Theater show. (We’ll also be posting this contest on our Facebook page… leave a comment there too to be entered twice!) The giveaway closes at 10.00am on Tuesday September 25, 2012, and winners will be contacted that day (be certain to leave your email so we can contact you!). Good luck, and see you at the show…

NOTE: This giveaway has now closed. Our winners are Anna Hoang, Kody Linscott and Jayellemer. You should all have received emails confirming that you’re a winner. Please contact us to confirm details!
