Trent Reznor’s How To Destroy Angels Signs With Columbia
I don’t get it.
Trent Reznor spent his entire career trying to get to a position where he didn’t need the music industry machine anymore. And he attained it.
Now, the band he’s got with his hot-as-fuck wife Mariqueen Maandig, called How To Destroy Angels, has signed with a major label.
The band — also featuring Atticus Ross and Nine Inch Nails’ longtime graphic designer Rob Sheridan — has inked a deal with Columbia Records for the release of a new EP and full-length album.
An Omen EP will be made available on November 13 and will contain six songs, some of which will also appear on the band’s upcoming LP, to be issued early next year.
“Regarding our decision to sign with Columbia,” Treznor writes on Facebook. “We’ve really spent a long time thinking about things and it makes sense for a lot of reasons, including a chance to work with our old friend Mark Williams. There’s a much more granular and rambling answer I could give (and likely will in an interview someplace), but it really comes down to us experimenting and trying new things to see what best serves our needs. Complete independent releasing has its great points but also comes with shortcomings.”
So, I guess that explains that.
