Just in time for Halloween, Philadelphia is getting a new take on “The Rocky Horror Show”! Not to be confused with people performing a pantomime to “The Rocky Horror Picture Show,” this unique theatrical production by Touch Me Philly (in association with Gloaming Productions) is the real deal baby.

But what makes this production new and unique you ask? Imagine taking the best parts of Rocky Horror, and merging them a bit with Avenue Q. You can probably guess the result. That’s right, puppets. Puppets doing naughty things. “The Rocky Horror Show – With Puppets” uses handcrafted, larger-than-life puppets to portray some of your favorite characters, as well as integral parts of the scenery! It’s a fun new way to experience the cult classic.

“The Rocky Horror Show – With Puppets” features some immensely talented actors, musicians, and puppeteers. I saw one of the performances this past weekend, and had a total blast. This is some seriously fun independent theater going on, and if you’re a Rocky Horror fan, you definitely won’t want to miss this.

Performances will take place on Wednesday, October 31st through Sunday, November 3rd at The Ruba Club (414 Green St.). All performances will take place at 8:00pm. Visit touchmephilly.wordpress.com for ticket information. In an effort to “repay and show support for our community,” proceeds from the October 31st performance will be donated to the William Way Community Center (as if you needed another reason to go do the Time Warp on Halloween).

Go check out the lab. See what’s on the slab. I see you shiver, with anti…..
