The first official video featuring the Emotiv Insight has just surfaced on YouTube. The EPOC-successor 5-channel brainwave headset was announced today, along with a Kickstarter campaign that is already an incredible hit. At time of writing, Emotiv’s crowdfunding campaign is just under $7,000 short of its $100,000 funding goal – and it’s only been on Kickstarter for about three hours.
If the Insight campaign is a success (and you can bet it certainly will be) the new headset will be released in 2014, and will feature five sensors capable of tracking eight different key brain states: attention, focus, engagement, interest, excitement, affinity, relaxation and stress level. It will also perform basic mental commands such as push, pull, levitate, and rotate, as well as hard to visualize commands such as disappear.
In the video below you can see Tan Le, co-founder and CEO of Emotiv, talking about the enormous success of their first product, the 14-channel EPOC headset. She is also presenting Insight, the new device aimed to optimize users’ brain fitness and performance.
