You may or may not know that a lawsuit’s been filed against Queensrÿche by the band’s former singer, Geoff Tate, who was shitcanned last year.
Blabbermouth claims that Tate, in his ongoing legal fight, has been granted a continuance until January 27, 2014.
The suit, of course, is over the use of the Queensrÿche name.
Previously, a judge had ruled both sides could use the name, but in different ways.
Tate and his wife, Susan, filed their suit in June 2012 asking they be awarded the rights to the band’s name in exchange for Tate paying Eddie Jackson, Michael Wilton and Scott Rockenfield the fair market value for their interests in the Queensrÿche companies.
Wilton, Rockenfield and Jackson filed a countersuit against the Tates in which they accused Geoff of creative obstruction and violent behavior, and Susan Tate of questionable business practices.
The band also teamed up with Todd La Torre to make one of the best albums Queensrÿche’s released in years.
