Brann Dailor is talking.
Talking about the new Mastodon record, which I am sure everyone is looking forward to with wanton anticipation.
Everyone but me, I’m afraid. I will listen to the new Mastodon, I just don’t wanna get to amped for it only to be let down a third time.
Brann says Mastodon will be entering the studio shortly with producer Nick Raskulinecz (Deftones, Alice In Chains) to record the disc.
“It’s gonna be massive and insane, lots of epic greatness. There will be lots of huge riffs and new directions. It’s real weird, real math-y, real straightforward. It’s up, down and all around.”
OK then. He added it’s “a culmination of everything for the band. The snowball keeps rolling and collecting snow.”
Not sure that’s a great analogy for what you do, but fine.
“There’s very few things that anybody can do to stop a Mastodon record from being born. And this thing’s gonna get born, OK? And there’s nothing anybody can do about it. We’re ready to lay them shits down. We’re ready to rock.”
