Firewind’s Gus G. Inks Solo Deal With Century Media

Now, that’s what we call concise headline writing.

I mean, what more do you need to know after reading that headline.

You already immediately know that Gus G. — the only dude anyone can actually name from that band Firewind — is making music solo, and has signed a new recording contract with Century Media.

That’s a headline that basically describes the entire story, and that’s what you strive to do. Unless you’re looking to trick people. Like I did here.

Gus G., who also plays guitar for Ozzy Osbourne, will make his solo recording debut with the release of I Am The Fire, which drops the spring.

Says Gus G. of the new deal:

“Loyalty is a very important thing in the music business, and for me it just felt natural to trust my first solo effort to the hands of the record company that has been loyal, supportive, and has helped build my career for more than 11 years now – a label that I truly feel as a family. Thank you Robert Kampf, Leif Jensen, Antje Lange, Don Robertson, Steve Joh, Jens Prueter, Nasrin Vahdani, Paul Gargano and the rest of the Century family! I truly feel blessed to be a part of CM history and look forward to exploring new territories with this new album!”

So that’s happening.

I could never get into Firewind, so unless Gus G. solo stuff sounds completely different, I’ll be passing on this one.
