Artist uses brainwaves to manipulate the motions of water
Conceptual artist Lisa Park has created this amazing art piece that manipulates water with the power of her mind. The data collected from the EEG headset is translated to modulate acoustic vibrations in real-time.
The artist uses a NeuroSky MindWave headset that monitors her brain activity and translates it towards metal dishes half filled with water, placed on five speakers which all vibrate in various patterns in accordance with her brain activity.
Park correlated each of the five speakers with certain emotions: sadness, anger, hatred, desire, and happiness.
The setup measures frequencies of her brain activity (Alpha, Beta, Delta, Gamma, Theta) relating to her state of consciousness while wearing it.
Her performance is titled Euonia, Greek for “beautiful thinking”.
