Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini Price and Specs – Small Size, Big Impact
Looking for a phone that won’t cost you an arm and a leg or two years of your life under contract? Look no further than the Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini.
It is a lot like its older sibling the Galaxy S4, only it is significantly smaller in size and the S4’s high end components have been replaced with more affordable mid-range ones to allow for a much lower price. Even with the scaled back features, the S4 Mini does a good job standing up to the competition. While this is a great deal for a budget conscious phone buyer, the S4 Mini should be compared to the competition to ensure you are getting what you are looking for in a mid-range device.

The Good Stuff:
As most mid-range phones go, the S4 Mini brings a lot of really strong features to the table, with a huge emphasis on its OS, Android 4.2, and its snappy processor, a dual-core. The camera on the Galaxy S4 Mini is also very high quality for a middle-of-the-road phone, coming in at 8 megapixels. In addition to all of its features, the Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini has excellent call and sound quality. It is a little smaller and much lighter than the original S4, but the specs stack up pretty well, making this a fantastic budget phone.
The Bad Stuff:
The Galaxy S4 Mini’s downfall all boils down to storage issues. With only 8GB of internal space, you can get a lot more bangs for your buck elsewhere. Another issue plaguing the S4 Mini is its very low quality front facing camera. Photos have a tendency to look very grainy and pixelated, not to mention blurry. There have also been widespread reports of data transfer rate being exceptionally slow on this particular model; however, others say that it functions with no problems. This likely depends a little bit on the carrier being used.
The Bottom Line:
In all, the Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini is a solid little phone that most people can afford without having to lock into a ridiculously long contract. It has reliable specs and a wide availability across many carriers which makes it easy to find and purchase. While this phone may be right for you, it doesn’t hurt to compare its specs with other mid-range phones that fall into your budget range. There are a few other phones out there on the market that compare well to the S4 Mini, and also offer more storage options and a higher quality front-facing camera. If front-facing photo quality and having massive amounts of storage is not important to you, the S4 Mini might be exactly what you have been searching for.
