Sony Xperia Z2 Release Dates
Sony has only recently unveiled the Xperia Z1 during the Consumer Electronics Show last year.
Instead of a replacement for the Z1, what they are planning to unveil is a compact version of the device. It will be another new handset that is rumored to be joining the company’s lineup as the successor of the Xperia Z1, and will be called the Sony Xperia Z2.
The new device is expected to be the company’s new flagship model and will have a number of names associated with it. Some say it will be called the Sony Sirius, while others have said it will obviously be called the Sony Xperia Z2 since it will be a successor of the Xperia Z1.
But then tech experts say that the Xperia Z2 is just an assumption since Sony has yet to issue an official statement on how this new device will be called. But aside from the name, what customers are anticipating is the release date of the new device.
In the past years, Sony has released two flagship devices and according to experts, the same thing will be happening this 2014. If you can remember, the Sony Xperia Z1 was unveiled to the public during IFA in September 2013 and rumors suggest that the Sony Xperia Z2 will be unveiled by Sony during the Mobile World Congress that will be happening in February of this year.
These reports are not confirmed by Sony yet, but the company is said to take advantage of this event in revealing to the public their new mobile device. The company has done the same thing in the past, where they use the CES as an avenue to launch their new flagship mobile phone.
The Sony Xperia Z2 is also reportedly coming with a 5.2 inch display that will feature a 2560 x 1440 pixel for its resolution, thus, it will be one of the mobile phones that will have the sharpest display in the market. According to some reports that were leaked, Sony will stick to a 5.2 inch screen for this new device, while still giving it a 5.2 inch screen display and a pixel density of 424ppi. Screenshots about the device also show that the new phone will have a resolution of 1776 x 1080 and will come with a touch screen panel across the bottom of the display.
Given all the praises that Sony has received in the past especially when it comes to the overall design of its Xperia range of mobile phones, a lot are suspecting that this next flagship phone, which is the Sony Xperia Z2, will follow a similar path so it will complement the rest of the Xperia Z family.
Several rumors also suggest that the new device will be slimmer than its predecessors and will come equipped with a water resistance feature, which a lot of customers would certainly love. While Sony has not released any official statement yet, a lot of consumers are hoping that Sony will be unveiling the new device anytime soon.
