With the Mobile World Congress just around the corner, a lot of consumers are expecting several new devices to be out in the market soon.
And indeed, this is what tech giants like Sony are planning. For this year, the company is set to release a couple new devices and one of these is the Sony Xperia Z2, a successor of the ever successful Xperia Z1.
Little is known about the new device although others would refer to it as “Sirius”, which is said to be its codename. It was also suggested that the new device will be called the Sony Xperia Z2 when it will be released in the market, since it will be the follow-up of the Xperia Z1. Despite the fact that only a few details are available about the Xperia Z2, you will find lots of rumors about its specs as well as some leaked images of how this device will look like.
For several years now, the smartphone technology has greatly improved. Companies behind some of the most successful mobile devices in the market are continuously coming up with new upgrades and several high tech features.
First off, the new Sony Xperia Z2 will be equipped with quad core processors. These are typically favored by consumers now and they are readily available as opposed to the chipsets from Samsung which is the Octa Core. Sony will still be using the quad core chipset by Qualcomm, which is the Snapdragon 800 MSM-8974-AB processor. It could be clocked in at 2.3 gigahertz, and the processor will also come with a 3 GB RAM, as well as an Adreno 330 GPU, making it one of the fastest mobile devices in this new generation.
Aside from the rumors about the mobile device’ specs, several screenshots have also been spreading all over the net which show how the Sony Xperia Z2 will look like. The screenshots have proved that the device is indeed an upgraded version of the Xperia Z1 and these screenshots also confirmed that the phone will indeed be running on Android 4.4 KitKat. The screenshots also proved that there are indeed lots of changes that will be coming for the new Sony smartphone.
Since the Android 4.4 KitKat is already out in the market now, then there is a bigger chance that the new Sony Xperia Z2 will indeed come with it, pre-installed. Or perhaps, this new device will have the Android 4.3 Jelly Bean and would be available for upgrade at a later time.
A lot of analysts are guessing that consumers will definitely be happy with this move, if indeed, Sony will be pushing through with this. Chances are Sony might also layer their own user interface aside from the Android, which is what they have actually done in the past.
There is no confirmation yet as to when the Sony Xperia Z2 will be released, but if rumors are true, this new device will be revealed during the Mobile World Congress (MWC 2014).
