Not only one, but there are two sets of screenshots of the upcoming Sony Xperia Z2 that have been leaked online.
The first set of photos was published on a forum and looked like an old build and is run by the Android 4.3 operating system. This just goes to show that there are some changes that Sony has made for the UI. On the second set of screenshots that was revealed by a blog, it shows that the device is run by Android 4.4.2 KitKat and is far more revealing.
The screenshots that were leaked also showed that Sony has done lots of upgrades to the camera of the Sony Xperia Z2. It is way better than the Sony Xperia Z1 since the images show that the camera for the Z2 supports a 4K video recording as well as a Timeshift video feature, allowing users to record videos in a high frame rate while applying some slow motion effects. Furthermore, the screenshots have also revealed several new features for the new device, such as the ability to wake the screen by simply double tapping it.
Smarter than any Mobile Phone
The leaked screenshots have also revealed that the Sony Xperia Z2 is indeed smarter than your usual mobile phone. It is fully equipped with several Smart controls, such as the Smart backlight control, that resembles Samsung’s Smart Stay feature. This feature ensures that the screen will stay on while you are looking at it, even if you’re not pressing anything.
Furthermore, the Smart call handling feature of the phone allows you to answer calls by simply bringing it up to your ear. You can reject the call by simply shaking the device and if you want to mute the ringer, simply flip the handset over. There are other phone manufacturers that have already implemented these features on their handset in the past and Sony is now one of them.
According to some rumors, the Sony Xperia Z2 will not have one, but two home launchers that one can choose from. You can go for standard, which is the Xperia Home and the Simple Home, which gives a simplified layout while increasing the font size and icons at the same time.
Give Users Full Control
The leaked screenshots of the Sony Xperia Z2 also gave an impression that users will have full control over the notifications screen as well as the status bar, since you can choose exactly which apps will display notifications and then select which icons you will display on the status bar. There is also the “What’s New” section which you can easily access by swiping up in the same way as how you will access the Google Now.
The screenshots just show that Sony is indeed coming up with lots of big changes for the Sony Xperia Z2. As you can see, it comes with so many new features. It even comes with a printing option on the system settings as well as a built-in answering machine that even allows you to select your own greeting messages.
