Samsung Galaxy S Duos 2 Vs Samsung Galaxy Grand 2 – Price and Specs Comparison

Samsung has launched several dual SIM phones that include the high-end Grand 2 and a low-end Duos 2. Let’s take a look at both phones and see what they offer to the user.
Design and Display
The Duos 2 is a smaller phone featuring 4-inch TFT display with a mediocre resolution of 480 x 800 pixels. The capacitive touch screen has multi-touch feature and has a pixels density of 233 ppi. The Grand 2 also has a TFT multitouch screen measuring 5.25 inches. The pixel density of Grand 2 is slightly higher at 280 pixels per inch which renders a resolution of 720 x 1280 pixels. The color depth of displays in both phones is 16 million colors which ensures good picture quality than phone with 256K display.
The Duos 2 has dual cameras. The 5 megapixel rear camera with LED flash and auto focus feature can shoot images and videos at a resolution of 2592 by 1944 pixels. The front camera in Duos 2 is a VGA camera which can record videos at 30 frames per second. Grand 2 also features dual cameras. The rear camera in Grand 2 is an 8 megapixel camera with several multimedia enhancement features such as geo tagging, face & smile detection, touch focus, image stabilization and auto focus. Samsung has also provided a LED flash for rear camera. The front camera in Grand 2 is a 1.9 megapixel camera. Users can easily record HD videos using Grand 2 rear camera.
Hardware and Operating System
Duos 2 is equipped with CortexA5 processor clocked at 1GHz and a dedicated graphics processor Adreno 200. It comes with just 768 MB of RAM and 4GB of internal storage space with an option to add up to 32GB memory through microSD card. The Duos runs Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich. Grand 2 is equipped with a quad core processor clocked at 1.2 GHz. Samsung has also provided dedicated graphics chip Adreno 305 which prevents overloading of the main processor “Cortex A-7”. Grand 2 runs Android 4.3 Jelly Bean OS.
The Duos 2 is designed to work on 2G, and 3G networks. You can use Grand 2 on 2G, 3G and 4G networks.
Grand 2 outperforms Duos in terms of battery life as it comes equipped with larger battery capacity. A 2600 mAh lithium-ion battery supplies power to Grand 2 and gives you talk time of 17hours of talk time on 3G network. On the other hand, Duos is equipped with 1500 mAh lithium –ion battery that can only power the device approx for 7 hours 25 minutes on a 3G network.
Duos comes equipped with wireless technologies such as Wi-Fi, WI-Fi hotspot and Bluetooth with A2DP. Grand 2 has some additional wireless connectivity features such as dual band Wi-Fi, DLNA, Wi-Fi Direct and Bluetooth Low Energy technology.
