The name of LG may not be taken in the same breath as Apple and Samsung but there is no denying the fact that LG happens to be one company that has turned a new leaf in its smartphones and is breathing down the neck of these two companies. It was in 2012 that LG Electronics launched its flagship G series of smartphones. The latest in this Android based high end smartphone series is LG G Pro 2. This tablet cum smartphone was introduced by the company during the MWC in February 2014 at Barcelona. This new tablet from LG aims to rival Samsung’s Galaxy Note Pro and though it is not strictly a tablet, it certainly a high end smartphone with a hue display in the category of a Phablet.

LG G Pro 2 runs on the latest Android 4.4 Kit Kat and it is fitted with a 2.2 GHz octa core processor. It boasts of a mammoth 5.9 inch screen with a high resolution of 1920X1080 pixels. This smartphone has a solid RAM of 3 GB with onboard storage of 16 GB that can be expanded using micro SD cards. This Phablet is a dual camera device with a 13 MP rear camera and a front camera that is 2.1 MP. LG G pro 2 comes fitted with a huge 3200mAh battery that ensures a long battery life of a full day’s work.
Bigger and smarter than LG Optimus
LG G Pro 2 measures 157.9X81.9X8.3mm and it weighs just 172g making it a very thin and lightweight Phablet. The Phablet provides very rich multimedia experience with a very fast and smooth performance because of the latest octa core processor from Snapdragon. Though the Phablet does not have GPS, it has great connectivity features in the form of Wi-Fi 802.11a/b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth V 4.0, mobile hotspot, DLNA, Infrared, and so on.
LG surprisingly placed the power button of this device at its back to cause inconvenience to the owners. To overcome this problem, the company devised a new feature to unlock the display of the phone. This is called Knock Code. You have to quickly tap the screen twice to bring it back to life once it ha slept. It takes only a few minutes to get used to this feature and it makes life very easy for the owner of LG G Pro 2. There is also a feature called Mini View to suit people with small hands.
