When you’re traveling or you’re bored and you don’t know what do to make the time go faster, Mobile Games are your solution. After playing only one game, you’ll realize how fun it is and you’ll want to play it again, until you become addicted. You’ll want to compete with other users and work hard for a “High score”.
Pop-cap Games were behind the famous apps such as “Plants vs. Zombies” and “Bejeweled” and they created all kinds of games that could be played on phones. Later, Facebook implemented some of the games and apps that kept busy their users for hours. Being envious on Pop-cap Games’ success, other creators such as King and Zynga implemented their own games that created hysteria among Facebook users, who became obsessed of beating their scores.
King created “Candy Crush Saga”, a famous mobile and app game that “contaminated” more and more Facebook users, who were desperate and requested their friends’ help in order to succeed in the game.
The game, which is a “Match Three Puzzle Video Game” was released for Facebook in 2012 and one year later, it was played by 46 million users/month. And all they had to do is to connect three identical “candies” in a row, in order to score points. They had to pass many levels, and one of the objectives was to “Clear all of one type of candy in a limited number of moves”. It’s no surprise why this game became so addictive!
Later, King released another game in which the players had to “Match Three Specific Items”, in order to obtain points, but they also had objectives such as “Drive away Rancid the Raccoon”. This game was named “Farm Heroes Saga”, after King tried to sue “The Banner Saga”, another game that included the word “saga” in the name, but what King didn’t know was that this game was based on “Norse Language”, from which it originated.
