Nokia X2, as well as the Galaxy Grand 2, is a budget-friendly smartphone which was released last month. The Samsung model came in Q1 2014, but it has better specs and it’s three times more expensive. Let’s compare these Dual-Sim devices and see which one is worth buying.
Displays, Designs and Sizes
The Nokia X2’s display is IPS LCD and has the size of 4.3inches and a resolution of 480x800pixels (217ppi). To be honest, we expected a higher resolution. The Galaxy Grand 2 is “grand” indeed with its 5.2inches TFT display, which supports a resolution of 720×1,280pixels and 280ppi.
Like the Note 3, the Galaxy Grand 2 features the same faux-leather design, being made of plastic, which gives the device a cheap look. But Phone Arena considers that the faux-leather looks better than the glossy plastic look of other Samsung smartphones. The colors on its display are vivid and you won’t complain about the oversaturation or viewing angles.
The Nokia X2 has an improved display thanks to Nokia’s ClearBlack polarization technology, which offers a better outdoor viewing experience. As for its design, it’s similar to its predecessor, Nokia X – glossy.
The Nokia X2 is 0.44inches thick and it weights 150grams, while the Galaxy Grand 2 is 13grams heavier, but it’s slimmer – 0.35inches.
Hardware and OS
The Nokia X2 hides under its hood a 1.2GHz dual-core (Qualcomm Snapdragon 200) Cortex-A7 processor. The Galaxy Grand 2 has a superior quad-core (Qualcomm Snapdragon 400)Cortex-A7 processor, which is clocked at 1.2GHz. The Nokia X2 hosts 4GB of RAM and it can be expanded up to 32GB. The Grand 2 has 8GB of internal memory –expandable up to 64GB.
The Nokia X2 runs on the Android 4.3 Jelly Bean OS with the Nokia X platform 2.0 UI and 1 GB of RAM. The Grand 2 has 1.5GB of RAM and it runs on the same OS version, which can be upgraded to newer versions.
Cameras and Batteries
The Nokia X2 has only a 5MP rear camera (LED flash) and a VGA secondary camera. The Galaxy Grand 2 has a more advanced primary camera – 8MP (LED flash) and the secondary camera is 1.9MP.
The Nokia X2’s battery is Li-Ion, with a capacity of 1800mAh which provides 13hours of 3G talktime. In stand by more, it lasts 552hours. The Galaxy Grand 2’s battery has a capacity of 2600mAh, which allows you to talk 17hours on 3G, and on stand by more, it withstands 370hours.
Connectivity and Colors
Both of these phones support Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Wi-Fi hotspot and Bluetooth 4.0. The Nokia X2 is available in green, yellow, orange black, matt dark grey and white. The Galaxy Grand 2 comes in white, black, and pink shades.
