In this article, we’re comparing two smartphones that were released in the same month, November, in 2013. You might say they’re outperformed by other smartphones that were launched in between, but we assure you that both devices have high end specs and decent prices. But let’s see which one surpasses the other one and it’s worth buying.

Motorola Moto G

Display and Sizes

The 4.5inches IPS LCD display is wide enough, offering a resolution of 720x1280pixels and 326ppi. The screen sports vivid colors and has a proximity sensor and a light sensor, being protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 3. The dimensions of the phone are 129.9×65.9×11.6mm and it weights 143grams.

Hardware and OS

The phone has a modest processor – a quad-core 1.2GHz Cortex-A7 CPU, which is coupled with a Qualcomm MSM8226 Snapdragon 400 chipset and an Adreno 305 GPU. The disadvantage of this smartphone is its unexpandable internal storage of 8 or 16GB. Aside from that, it has 1GB of RAM and it runs on the Android 4.3 Jelly Bean OS, which is upgradable to the 4.4.4 (KitKat) version, plus it supports 4G connectivity.

Camera

The rear camera isn’t very advanced. Its resolution is of 5MP and it has features such as 2592х1944pixels, autofocus, LED flash, face detection, HDR, geo tagging, touch focus, panorama + video recording capabilities of 720p@30fps. The other camera is 1.3MP.

Battery

The battery on the Moto G is non-removable and has a capacity of 2070mAh, which allows a talk time of 24 hours.

The 8G variant of the Moto G costs 176 dollars, while the 16GB variant is priced at 230 dollars and they can be bought from amazon.com.

HTC Desire 700

Display and Sizes

This model has a bigger display, which measures 5inches, but it has a slower resolution – 540x960pixels and the pixel density is above mediocre – 220ppi. The exterior of this model is elongated, but the phone feels comfortable to hold in one hand. The dimensions of the HTC Desire 700 are 145.5x72x10.3mm and it’s only 6grams heavier than its opponent.

Hardware and OS

The HTC Desire 700 features the same quad-core 1.2GHz Cortex-A7 processor, but it’s based on the Spreadtrum Shark chipset and it’s coupled with a Mali-400 GPU. It has a built in storage of 8GB, but it can be expanded up to 64GB. This model runs on an older version of Android – 4.1.2 Jelly Bean with 1GB of RAM.

Camera

The rear camera of the HTC Desire 700 is of 8MP, being able to capture videos at 1080p. The other features are: 3264x2448pixels, autofocus, LED flash, simultaneous HD video & image recording, face detection, HDR etc. The camera on the front is 2.1MP.

Battery

The device comes with a Li-Po 2100mAh battery which supports up to 11hours and 40 minutes of talktime on 3G.
