Loving the large screen smartphones? So are we! That’s why we decided to compare two of the best phablets from the market, the Xperia T2 Ultra and Samsung’s Galaxy Note II N7100, to see which one has more advantages. But, in our opinion, the Note II N7100 is more advantageous and the pricing isn’t very high.

Displays and sizes

This huge phablet has a 6inches Triluminos display IPS LCD display which uses Mobile BRAVIA engine 2 for excellent color reproduction, so you’ll have an amazing experience as long as you don’t use the phone in direct sun light. The screen resolution is set for 720x1280pixels and the pixel density stands at 245ppi. The phone weights almost 172grams and its dimensions are 165.2×83.8×7.7mm. The device comes in white, black and purple and has the power button, camera butoon and volume rocker on the upper right side.

The Galaxy Note II N7100 has the indispensable S Pen stylus which facilitates different activities such as drawing and writing. It has the power button located on the right edge, the volume rocker is on the right. The audio jack is on the top, while the USB charging is in the opposite side. The phone has a smaller 5.5inches Super AMOLED, but this size makes it a phablet. The resolution is the same, but the pixel density is higher, 267ppi. The device is weighting 183grams and the dimensions are 151.1×80.5×9.4mm.

Hardware and OS

The Xperia T2 Ultra runs fast, but not faster than the Samsung phablet. It has a quad core 1.4GHz Cortex A7 processor supported by a Qualcomm MSM8928 Snapdragon 400 chipset, it uses an Adreno 305 GPU and it hosts 1GB of RAM, which is kind of low for a phone of this size. The internal memory is 8GB, expandable up to 32GB and the phone comes loaded with Android 4.3 (Jelly Bean) OS, but you can upgrade it to v4.4.2 (KitKat). Also, there are 6 home screens which you can customize.

As for the Galaxy Note II N700, the phone runs smoothly with a quad core 1.6GHz Cortex A9 processor, which is based on an Exynos 4412 Quad chipset and uses a Mali-400MP4 GPU. The RAM capacity is double and you can opt for one of the three variants of internal memories: 16/32/64 GB – the first two ones are expandable up to 64GB. The phone came out of the factory with Android v4.1.1 (Jelly Bean), but now it runs on v4.4.2 (KitKat). Also, there is a layer of TouchWiz UI on top of it.

The Xperia T2 Ultra sports a better rear camera of 13MP with features such as autofocus, LED flash, geo tagging, HDR, sweep panorama, face detection, touch focus and image stabilization. This phone records videos at 1080p@30fps and with the 1.1MP front camera it can record at 720p@30fps.

The Samsung device has an 8MP back camera with similar features and it records simultaneous HD videos and images. The quality of the images is excellent even if they are taken in day sun light or in low light conditions. The secondary camera is 1.9MP.

The Xperia C is fitted with a non removable Li-Ion 3000mAh battery which lasts around 24hours when talking on 3G. The Galaxy Note II N7100 has a user replaceable Li-Ion 3100mAh battery which keeps you occupied for 16hours on 3G.

The pricing for the Xperia T2 Ultra is 361 dollars, while the Galaxy Note II N7100 costs 404 dollars.
