The new Nokia X2 was proclaimed this June and the smartphone has currently been launched in some particular regions. The Xaomi Redmi 1S has been released earlier in India. However, at this moment there isn’t any information to determine the launch date of the device in other sides of the world. For those who are interested in this two amazing smartphones here it is a comparison about the specs and features.
The new Nokia X2 comes with a display of 4.3 inch (IPS LCD) packed with 480 x 800 pixels screen resolution. For the Xiaomi Redmi 1S the display is an IPS LCD of 4.7 inch which is relatively bigger and the screen resolution is 720 x 1,280 pixels. While the Nokia X2 has a 217 ppi pixel density, the Xiaomi Redmi 1S phone stands at 312 ppi pixel density.
The Nokia X2 handset shows off with a new developed display with polarization technology from Nokia’s ClearBlack. This feature provides for the users better outdoor viewing. According to Anand Tech, this technology can make a normal display look fine and a better display look amazing. Moreover, the new Nokia X2’s exterior is actually a lot similar to the Nokia X series of phones. Hence, the latest X2 introduces a new translucent exterior layer that makes the phone look shiny.
For the Xiaomi Redmi 1S there are not more details disclosed about the exterior look. We know that the smartphone features a premium exterior. Furthermore, the Xiaomi Redmi has a matte laden rear panel which can be altered. The Xiaomi is considering to provide colorful rear panels for INR 459 (at US$7 and AU$8)
While the Xiaomi Redmi 1S is 0.39 inch thick and 158 g weight, the new Nokia X2 is 0.44 inch and weighs 150 g.
The Nokia X2 is bundled with a processor Dual Core QUALCOMM- Snapdragon 200 CortexA7 chipset, set at 1.2 GHz. On the other hand, The Xiaomi Redmi 1S handset features a better Quad Core QUALCOMM- Snapdragon 400 CortexA7 processor; at 1.6 GHz. Thus, both the devices come packed with 1 GB of RAM. Plus, the Nokia X2 phone is on Android OS v4.3 Jelly Bean with Nokia X platform 2.0 UI, and the Xiaomi Redmi 1S device runs on the sameversion of Android along with MIUI v5.
In addition, the Nokia X2 provides 4 GB of internal memory storage, whereas the Xiaomi smartphone comes with a relatively bigger internal storage of 8 GB. Both the devices support micro SD card expandable up to 32 GB.
Battery and Camera
The Nokia X2 is bundled with a Li-Ion 1800 mAh battery, and the Xiaomi Redmi 1S houses a relatively better battery Li-Ion of 2000 mAh.
When it comes to camera, the Nokia X2 features a 5 MP primary camera with LED flash, and a VGA secondary camera unit. The Xiaomi device provides a better camera unit of 8 MP with LED flash and also it comes with a front facing shooter of 1.6 MP.
Both the devices are packed with Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and micro USB port. Additionally, both the phones house dual SIM (the Nokia X2 support micro SIM, and the Xiaomi handset mini-SIM).
