Samsung has been, and by the looks of it, would remain the unprecedented king of the smartphone arena.
More than half the share on the smartphone market goes into the pocket of the Korean giant, leaving other companies to survive on leftovers. This has been the trend so far. The reason for the Korean giant gaining success in the smartphone segment is the company’s ability to recognize the pulse of the masses. The smartphones and tablets released by Samsung Electronics come at a reasonable price, easily affordable by the masses. However, the company does make some sacrifices to cater to the masses with the best of both the worlds.
In comparison, Lenovo has been in and out of the smartphone race a couple of times. However, with the release of Lenovo’s Vibe X smartphone, the company comes back all guns blazing in the best smartphone challenge. The Vibe X packs a punch with its slim profile, coming at a thickness under 7mm. It is really impressive. The weight of the smartphone is also very light, considering the size of the handset. The premium feel of the Vibe X comes from its laser textured pattern on its surface. Despite being all plastic body, the handset provides a fabric like touch to the user.
Let us compare the two handsets in terms of their display and processor.
The Samsung Galaxy Grand comes equipped with a 5-inch display, offering large screen lovers something worth paying attention to. However, the 5-inch screen of the Galaxy Grand comes with a low WVGA resolution to offer to its users. It is a disappointment though, as the low resolution stretches the pictures to an unimpressive 187-ppi (pixel per inch) pixel density.
In comparison, the Lenovo Vibe X comes equipped with a similar 5-inch screen, but with a superior resolution at 1080 x 1920 pixels. In fact, the IPS LCD panel of the Lenovo Vibe X offers the user great picture quality and perfectly represented colors, because of its 441-ppi of pixel density. The display is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 3 coating for protection against dust and scratches.
Under the Hood
Under the hood, the Galaxy Grand smartphone derives power from a dual core processor, running at a speed of 1.2GHz and coupled with a RAM of 1GB. It is a smooth performer with no big gimmicks included. New additions made to the Galaxy Grand makes the smartphone an attractive proposal.
In comparison, the Lenovo Vibe X encompasses a MediaTek quad core SoC running at a speed of 1.5GHz. The chipset may not be as powerful as the quad core Qualcomm silicone but it is adequate for the smooth functioning of the Vibe X smartphone.
