Samsung Galaxy Mega 2 vs Galaxy Mega 6.3 vs Gionee Elife S5.5 – Best Prices and Top Specifications Comparison
Samsung released the Galaxy Mega 6.3 a year ago, and everybody was expecting to see a successor one the market. First leaks appeared at the mid-August and one month later, the release date of this phablet was confirmed. Today, we’ll compare the Galaxy Mega 2 with its predecessor and Gionee’s Elife s5.5 phone.

What we currently know about this device is that it will feature a smaller screen than its predecessor, which will be a TFT with the resolution of 720x1280pixels and 245ppi.
It will be powered by quad core processor clocked at 1.5GHz, based on a Snapdragon 410 chipset, it will run on Android 4.4.3 (KitKat) with 1.5GB of RAM and will host an internal memory of 8GB, expandable up to 64GB. The back camera will be 8MP with autofocus, LED flash, touch focus, geo tagging and face and smile detection and the front camera will be 2.1MP. The battery won’t be massive, Li-Ion 2800mAh, which will keep the phone busy for a while. Mega 2’s price will most likely be under 400 dollars.

The Mega 6.3 has a SC-LCD screen whose size is obviously 6.3inches. It supports the same resolution as the Mega 2, but the pixel density is lower, at 233ppi. This phone weights almost 200 grams and it measures 167.6x88x8mm, it has a slim bezel, round edges and a rectangular look and a nice design. It’s powered by a 1.7GHz Krait 300 processor with two cores, supported by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 chipset and uses an Adreno 305 GPU. It’s available in two variants of internal storage of 8 and 16GB, which can be expanded up to 64GB and it runs, initially, on Android v4.2.2 (Jelly Bean), but in the meantime, the OS was upgraded to v4.4.2 (KitKat). The RAM capacity is 1.5GB. The device has an 8MP back shooter which records at 1080p@30fps, in HD, and the front camera is 1.9MP. As for the battery, is removable, with a capacity of 3200mAh, which allows up to 10 hours of talk time on 3G. Gionee Elife S5.5
This phone is smaller than its rivals, having a Super AMOLED display of 5inches with a higher resolution of 1080x1920pixels and 441ppi. It has Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection on both front and back panels, and it has the main camera located on the upper left corner of the device. It has a rectangular shape with almost sharp edges, it’s very thin, measuring 145.1×70.2×5.6mm and it weights 133grams. This phone runs on a 1.7GHz Cortex-A7 processor with eight cores, based on a Mediatek MT6592 chipset and it uses a Mali-450MP4 GPU. The built in storage has a capacity of 16GB, but it’s unexpandable and the RAM is 2GB. The phone comes loaded with Android v4.2 (Jelly Bean), but you can upgrade it to v4.4.2 (KitKat), and the phone uses its own Amigo OS 2.0 interface. The rear camera is more advanced, at 13MP, and the front camera is 5MP. The battery is non-removable, with a capacity of 2300mAh, which lasts 11hours when talking on 3G. This phone costs around 320 dollars.
Between the three devices, the Gionee Elife has better specs: a faster processor, a higher screen resolution and pixel density, more advanced cameras, a bigger RAM capacity. The only drawbacks of this phone are the smaller screen and battery capacity.
