Samsung has been the leading company when it comes to smartphones and this trend has made the Korean giant release mini variants of its flagship device – the Galaxy S5 Mini. Find below a comparison review of how the Galaxy S5 Mini handset fares against its predecessor, the Galaxy S4 Mini handset.

Processor and Memory

Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini handset comprises of Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 dual core CPU, clocked at 1.7GHz and coupled with a RAM of 1.5GB. In comparison, the Galaxy S5 Mini comprises of similar RAM power, but the processor is upgraded to quad core, running at a speed of 1.4GHz.

A small upgrade, but an upgrade nonetheless, which would provide enhanced performance to the potential user.

Storage

In terms of storage, the GS4 Mini offers 8GB of internal storage capacity. In comparison, the Galaxy S5 Mini offers the user 16GB of internal storage capacity, which is a definite upgrade. However, both the smartphones come equipped with an external storage microSD card slot for memory enhancement of up to 64GB.

Battery

The 2100mAh battery unit of the GS5 Mini, in comparison to the 1900mAh battery unit of the GS4 Mini handset, is expected to offer a better battery life. However, the higher resolution display along with heavy processor of the GS5 Mini handset, balances out in terms of overall battery life.
