Back in May, Oppo, which is an up and coming manufacturer, released the Fin 7 smartphone. Today it will be facing a device which came a bit earlier than that, in September 2013 to be more exact, therefore has a starting advantage as it is the fresher handset. It balances out in the end, as its opponent is none other than the Galaxy Note 3 by Samsung, which is a far more established player in the smartphone business. The Oppo Find 7 stores all its components in a 6.01 x 2.95 x 0.36 inch body, weighing no more than 171 grams. With 168 grams and a 5.95 x 3.12 x 0.33 inch body, the Galaxy Note is both smaller and lighter  than the Oppo Find.


The Samsung Galaxy Note 3 uses as quad core, 2.3 GHz Krait 400 processor, which provides plenty of power for you to smoothly run your apps. To make sure of that, it is combined with no less than 3 GB of RAM. The Internal memory reaches 64 GB, but you can also get smaller variants with 16 or 32 GB. No microSD card support is available here. For the camera, Samsung packed its Note 3 with 13 MP. It comes with standard features for a mobile camera such as LED flash or autofocus, but also more intricate ones like simultaneous video recording ad image snapping at an HD quality, panorama, dual shot, HDR, face detection, and more. Its shooting ranges go from 1080p at 60 fps to 2160p at 30 fps. The device also comes with a 5 MP front facing lens

On the other side, the Oppo Find 7 relies on a Krait 400 processing unit as well, classified as quad core and clocked at 2.5 GHz, placing it above what the Note 3 offers. In terms of memory, the Find 7 provides 3 GB of RAM, and 32 GB of internal storage space which can be upgraded to up to 128 GB. .  The camera used for this device has 13 MP while the secondary front facing lens has 5 MP. The camera features dual LED flash. It also comes with a set of premium features such as HDR, panorama, face detection and more. It can record video at 2160p with 30 fps, but also at 1080p and 60 fps or 720p and 120 fps.

Software and Battery

Both handsets come with support for Google’s Android Jelly Bean, the 4.3 build to be more specific. The Note 3 however, can be upgraded to the new Android KitKat.

For keeping the phone alive, Oppo has opted for a Li-Po 3000 mAh battery unit, which large as it is, still falls behind the Note 3’s unit, which has a capacity of 3200 mAh.
