Here’s a comparison between three of the most amazing smartphones: Sony’s Xperia Z1, LG’s G Flex, which is a curved phone, and HTC’s One M8. The Z1 stands out with higher MP, the One M8 has a better front camera, while the One M8 has a longer battery life. It’s up to up to decide which device suits you better.

Displays and sizes

The biggest among them is the LG G Flex, with a curved body and Curved P-OLED display of 6inches, protected with Corning Gorilla Glass 2, which supports a resolution of 720x1280pixels with 245ppi. Speaking of flexibility, to flatten the handset out, you can just apply pressure to the rear and the glass or the chassis won’t break. Also, the back panel features a self healing coating which can eliminate scratches under heat. This device weights 177grams and its dimensions are 160.5×81.6×8.7mm.

The other two phones have 5inches displays with the same resolution of 1080x1920pixels and pixel density of 441ppi. However, the Xperia Z1 has a TFT triluminos screen protected with a shatter proof glass, while the One M8 has a Super LCD3 display made of Corning Gorilla Glass 3. The HTC device weights 160grams and measures 146.4×70.6×9.4mm, while the Sony phone is 10grams heavier and measures 144×74 x8.5mm, being water and dust resistant (IP58 certified).

Hardware and OS

All three smartphones are powered by the same Krait 400 processor with four cores, but with different clock speeds: 2.2GHz – Xperia Z1, 2.26GHz – G Flex, 2.5GHz or 2.3GHz – One M8. The Z1 and G Flex are equipped with Qualcomm MSM8974 Snapdragon 800 chipsets, while the third phone has a Qualcomm MSM8974AB Snapdragon 801 chipset, but all three devices are using the same Adreno 330 GPU and have 2GB of RAM.

Now, let’s talk about the internal memories and start with the One M8 which features two variants of memories of 16 and 32GB whose capacities are expandable up to 128GB. The Z1 hosts 16GB of internal memory which supports expansion up to 64GB, while the G Flex has an unexpandable memory of 32GB.

The Z1 comes with Android v4.2 (Jelly Bean) and now it runs on v4.4.4 (KitKat), the One M8 comes with v4.4.2 (KitKat), but it can be upgraded to v4.4.3 (KitKat), while the G Flex still operates on v4.2.2 (Jelly Bean).

Cameras

The Z1 has one of the most advanced back cameras. You can take excellent photos with its 20.7MP snapper in HD quality, the camera featuring LED flash, autofocus, 1/2.3” sensor size, face focus, geo-tagging and touch focus. For video calling there’s a 2MP camera on the front.

Next, we have the G Flex with a 13MP back camera with similar features, but which is able to record videos and images simultaneously. Also, it has a 2.1MP camera on the front which can record at 1080p@30fps.

Lastly, the One M8 has a duo 4MP back camera with autofocus, dual-LED (dual tone), 1/3” sensor size, 2µm pixel size, HDR, automatic simultaneous video and image recording and many other features. However, the front camera has a higher resolution, 5MP.

Batteries

All three batteries are non-removable, and the biggest capacity is 3500mAh, for the G Flex, which allows a total duration of talking time of 15hours. The second place is occupied by the Xperia Z1 with a 3000mAh battery, but which has a similar lifespan, while the One M8, with its 2600mAh promises to last 20 hours when talking on 3G.
