Nokia Lumia 635 vs Huawei G353 – Healthy LTE Device Alternatives
If you are looking to buy a smartphone that has LTE capabilities, but aren’t too keen on the idea of paying a small fortune for a high-end device, or getting involved in a contract agreement, you should know that there are some good alternatives for such devices that won’t cripple your savings account. We are comparing two such devices in this article, namely the Huawei G353 and the Nokia Lumia 635.
Measuring 131 x 65.3 x 7.85 mm and weighing 145 grams, the Huawei G353 is heavier, but thinner than the Nokia Lumia 635, which measures 129.5 x 66.7 x 9.2 mm and weighs 134 grams.
You get the same 4.5 inches of display real estate no matter which one you choose. However, the two screens have some differences between them, such as the resolution. TheHuawei G353 offers a 960 x 540 resolution, while the Lumia 635 comes with an 854 x 480 resolution. The devices come with large displays like the more premium handsets, but they don’t pack the same HD quality for obvious reasons.
According to GSM Arena, these devices have not only differences but also similarities when it comes to their internal configurations. The first stop on our ride under the hood is the processor. The same quad core chip branded Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 with a clock speed of 1.2 GHz is used for both handsets.
Moving on to memory, we find that the Huawei G353 has the same amount of internal storage as its Nokia-produced opponent for today, which is 8 GB. Aside from that, those opting for the Lumia will also receive 7 GB of online storage. In terms of RAM, there are only 512 MB available for Nokia’s handset, while the Huawei G353 features 1 full GB.
The camera is another category where the two share similarities. Both come with a 5 MP lens on the rear capable of 720 p recording at 30 fps. Nokia has become known for according extra attention to the camera on its devices, and while the lens on the Lumia 635 only features 5 MP, the phone comes with an app that enhances the camera experience by allowing users to re-set the focus on an image after it was taken. Another app lets you highlight the color of a selected area, once again giving the Lumia device the edge.
The need to spread the usage of LTE technology across the globe has driven mobile operators to pressure manufacturers into coming up with cheaper solutions, and that’s how these two devices came to be.
On Amazon.com, the Lumia 635 is about $90 while the Huawei G535 is retailed for no more than $160.
