5 Reasons Why iPhone 6 is Still Being Criticized By Smartphone Users
For any iPhone user, buying the iPhone 6 is the ultimate goal at the moment.
Even so, people who are already using the smartphone claim that it is not any different from its predecessor, the iPhone 5s. While this phone may come with a lot of awesome features, there have been a few complaints about it too.
Here are the five leading reasons why this smartphone is being criticized.
Apple Is Still Playing Catchup
The launch of the latest iPhone models is only proof enough that Apple has a long way to go before it catches up to the likes of Samsung and HTC. The iPhone 6 features the largest screen ever used on an iPhone – it measures only 4.7inches. In the mobile phone market, large screen phones were launched at least three years ago, meaning Apple is actually three years behind.
The iPhone 6 comes with a 4.7inch screen – this is equivalent to the Amazon Fire phone and the HTC One, which were launched a while back.
It seems like a cruel joke to only offer iPhone users, an 8MP camera, on the latest iPhone. Again, this means that the iPhone 6 will be playing catch up to other flagships. For example, the Samsung Galaxy S5 comes with a 16MP camera, the Xperia z3 with a 20.7MP camera, the LG G3 with a 13MP camera and finally the 20.7 Exmor RS camera is found in the smartphones of Sony. However, the camera on the iPhone 6 comes with two major improvements – phase detection AF and OIS (optical image stabilization). Even so, these features have already been implemented by Samsung and Nokia in their flagship phones. Therefore, Apple has not offered anything new to smartphone users, maybe just to iPhone users.
The iPhone 6 comes with a new A8 processor which is claimed to make the phone 25% faster than its predecessor or any other iPhone. However, little was done to the battery life on the new iPhone as it is claimed to last as long as the predecessor. According to users, it is possible to drain the iPhone 6 battery in just a couple of hours if you are using it on a busy day. This puts the reliability of this phone to the test as it means users may have to carry around charge banks when going on long trips.
The Long Queue for Purchase
The iPhone 6 was launched in September in different parts of the world. This means that people are still hyped about the phone, and this explains the long queues outside the Apple stores. In parts of the world like New York, people camp outside the stores for more than 10 days just to buy the phone. People are even making money from selling their positions to other buyers for good sums of money. This means that you are out of luck if you are a busy person who still expects to get the iPhone 6 anytime soon.
For many years, Apple has positioned itself as the premiere mobile device and charging a hefty price for it. The iPhone 6 is not different, costing a whooping £539 for a 16GB version. The price increases for the 32GB, 64 GB and 128GB versions. It seems like rip-off since users are paying more for the same features in the iPhone 5s.
