Moto 360 vs LG G Watch R – These Smartwatches Can Be Purchased Through AT&T

These smartwatches with rounded displays will soon hit the American stores, as they’re now heading to AT&T. Maybe you’ve already got used to smartwatches with square-dial, but if you want to make a change, now it’s time to buy either the Motorola Moto 360 or the LG G Watch R.

If you wondered what the “R” and the “360” mean, then let’s solve the mystery. LG added the “R” to remind you of the round design, and Motorola thought about the 360 number to make a connection with the 360 degrees (circle). Now, these devices are sold through AT&T’s online store and in two days, they’ll be available in AT&T’s brick and mortar stores.

The Moto 360 has a 1.56inch LCD display with RGB matrix, supporting a resolution of 320×290 pixels with 205ppi and has Corning Gorilla Glass 3 on top of it, for protection against scratches. It’s powered by a 1GHz TI OMAP 3 processor which is backed by 512MB of RAM. The internal memory isn’t very big, but you won’t need more than 4GB. As for the battery, it has a capacity of 320mAh and lasts one day with mixed use and it can be charged via wireless. The price of the Moto 360 is 249 dollars and you can purchase it starting from November 7.

The LG G Watch R is 50 dollars more expensive, but the difference of price is justified by the better performance. This smartwatch comes with a 1.2GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processor, but it has the same 512MB of RAM and 4GB of storage. However, the battery is much bigger, of 410mAh, but compared to other Android wearable competitors, it offers a mediocre battery life. Its display is smaller, of 1.3inch and has resolution of 320x320pixels, but it’s more attractive because it’s surrounded by a metal frame which makes it look like a traditional wrist watch. The Moto 360 has only a physical button and a steel casing, but likewise the “R” watch, it’s water resistant and has a heart rate sensor.

Anyway, both devices run on Google’s Android Wear OS. There is also a duo-deal from AT&T. In case you’ll buy the Motorola Moto X along with the Moto 360, the smartwatch will be 50 dollars cheaper.
