In the Q1 of 2014 we saw the launch of HTC One M8. The phone came packed with a metal-looking exterior, great features and specs. However, now those specs are somehow outdated, as new smartphones came with better configurations than it.
The company has decided to build the successor of HTC One M8, which will be named HTC One M9. Rumors say that HTC One M9 will feature a 5.2inch display that will support a resolution of 1440x2560pixels at 564ppi. The HTC One M8 has a 5inch screen and supports a resolution of 1080x1920pixels at 441ppi.
As for the processor model, the upcoming HTC One M9 is rumored to be equipped with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 processor and 3GB of RAM, while the M8 has a Snapdragon 801 SoC and only 2GB of RAM.
The HTC One M9 will have an internal memory of 64GB and will support a microSD card slot, allowing you to expand the storage up to 128GB. The M8 came in two variants: one had 16GB internal storage and the other one had 32GB internal storage. Both of the variants supported a microSD card slot, which increased the memory up to 128GB.
HTC One M9 will most likely run on Google’s Android 5.0 Lollipop, while the M8 currently runs on Android 4.4.2 KitKat. However, the M8 will most likely receive an upgrade to Android 5.0 sometime soon.
HTC hopes that the release of the One M9 will bring back some good revenues and it will finally bring the company back to the right track. However, the Snapdragon 805 processor with the 3GBof RAM is already present on many smartphones that got released recently, so we’re not sure if HTC will actually succeed with their upcoming HTC One M9.
Do you think that HTC will catch up with their upcoming HTC One M9 once it gets released?
