Samsung Galaxy S5 vs Oppo N3 – Which Is Better And Why
Most of you already know about the Samsung Galaxy S5, the flagship device from Samsung that has proven to be quite the powerhouse. However, there are most certain less of you who also know about the Oppo N3, which could be considered a healthy alternative for the Samsung flagship, if it passes today’s test. Let’s see how the two compare against each other and which one takes the cake.
Design and Display
The Oppo N3 comes with a plastic chassis that houses an aluminum frame. The overall appearance of the device is bulky and less premium-like. The Galaxy S5 on the other hand takes a step back from the standard approach for the Galaxy devices seen in the past, and comes with a matte body which features a perforated back cover that didn’t really impress the audience.
The Oppo N3 measures 161.2 x 77 x 8.7 mm and weighs 192 grams. The Galaxy S5 measures 142 x 72.5 x 8.1 mm and weighs 154 grams, meaning that the Samsung device is both lighter and slimmer than its Oppo competitor.
The N3 comes with a 5.5 inch screen that uses TFT technology, with a 401 ppi pixel density and a 1080 x 1920 resolution. On the other hand, the Galaxy S5 comes with a Super AMOLED display that measures 5.1 inches and uses 432 ppi pixel density. The device also features protection for the screen in the form of the Corning Gorilla Glass 3.
As found on GSM Arena, the Galaxy S5 comes with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 processing unit and a Krait 400 clocked at 2.5 GHz. For the graphics, Samsung’s Galaxy S5 uses the Adreno 330, while the RAM capacity of this device is 2 GB. The internal memory storage capacity comes in 16 and 32 GB variants, but can be expanded to up to 128 GB through a microSD.
The Oppo N3 features a Qualcomm Snapdragon Krait 400 as well. The clock speed here however is 2.3 GHz. The RAM capacity is the same here, 2 GB, while the Adreno 330 handles the graphics processing duties. The internal storage amount is 16 GB, but with a microSD card, it can reach 128 GB.
For the Galaxy S5, we have a 2800 mAh battery unit that should keep the device on for a while. The Oppo N3 comes with an even bigger battery that has a total capacity of 3000 mAh. If you like to swap batteries and get something more convenient for you, that is an option, as the phones have removable batteries.
