Micromax launched the Canvas 4 smartphone into the mobile market with much hype.
The handset had to confront a plethora of competitors, with Karbonn being one of them. Karbonn released the Titanium S9 smartphone in comparison to the Canvas 4 handset. Both the handsets come equipped with similar hardware features and bigger screens. In addition, Karbonn equipped the S9 with similar spec sheet as that of the Canvas Doodle 2 A240 smartphone. Display and Processor
The Canvas Doodle 2 A240 smartphone comprises of 5.7-inch display having HD resolution at 720p. The display offers a pixel density of 220-pixels per inch. The clarity is above average. On the other hand, Karbonn Titanium S9 smartphone includes a slightly smaller 5.5-inch display than the Micromax handset. However, the resolution is the same at 720p HD. The 5.5-inch screen with 720p resolution results in better pixel density of 267-pixels per inch. Regardless, both screens are not different from each other. In real time, the user would hardly find the difference in picture clarity and the size of the screen.
As far as the processor is concerned, both the handsets comprise of similar chipset configurations. Both the Micromax and the Karbonn handsets incorporate an inexpensive Media MT6589 chipset. The ARM based Cortex A7 quad core processor running at 1.2GHz frequency accompanied with a PowerVR SGX544 graphic chipset powers both the handsets. The graphic processor clocked at 256MHz frequency ensures lag-free gaming performance. The processor is powerful enough to handle multitasking and gaming efficiently.
Camera and Memory
Both smartphones are almost similar per se the camera specifications and memory features. The Micromax handset comprises of 12MP primary camera and a 5MP secondary camera. On the other hand, the Karbonn Titanium S9 handset comprises of a 13MP rear camera and a similar 5MP user-facing camera. The Titanium handset edges past the Micromax Doodle 2 with 1MP camera, which is not much of a difference.
In the memory department, both the handsets again come at par. Both the Micromax Doodle2 and the Titanium S9 come equipped with 16GB of internal memory coupled with 1GB of RAM. The Micromax handset does not offer expandable memory card slot.
Battery Specs and Features
Both the handsets come equipped with similar battery specs. The 2600-mAh standard battery power both the handsets, offering a 2G talk time of eight hours. The battery would last a day with moderate usage. With respect to features, the Micromax handset leads the race. The Doodle 2 incorporates similar features equipped in the Canvas 4 handset. The smartphone also features a stylus and a Flip cover. The Titanium S9 and the Micromax Doodle 2 offer dual SIM functionality. The Jelly Bean based Android version 4.2 run both the smartphones.
Both the handsets have been released with almost similar price. They also comprise of very similar hardware specifications under the hood and build quality. However, it is the after sales service and availability of the Micromax handset that makes it a winner.
