Samsung Galaxy K Zoom – The Best Camera Smartphone Features

1

The Galaxy K Zoom sports one of the best ever cameras that were fit into a smartphone.

The phone’s rear snapper has a 20.7-megapixel sensor with a lens of 1/2.3-inches. Its 10x zoom lets you take photographs that are impossible unless you use a digital camera. You also get to control the zoom easily either by using the volume up/down buttons or through the app which is pretty sensible.

Camera Image Quality

One assumes that being a camera-centric phone, the Galaxy K Zoom offers better pictures that the Galaxy S5. In reality, the latter has an edge when it comes to quality of images when shooting fully wide (without using the zoom feature). The S5’s photos have slightly better contrast. Also, in wide-angle shots, the K Zoom’s image sharpness decreases at the edges of the frame. This shows that the lens isn’t made of high quality material.

However, it is the 10x zoom feature that makes the K Zoom indispensable for shooting faraway objects. The K Zoom has something the S5 lacks – a Xenon flash and optical image stabilization (OIS). These two features make a great difference when taking snaps in low light conditions. OIS removes the noise to provide higher detail while the Xenon flash gives an even coverage and a better tone than an LED.

A quick look at the different camera modes offered by the phone:

Pro Suggest

It suggests the filters to be used after shooting. It teaches the novices how to use different filters for suitable occasions.

Program

This mode allows you to operate manually without relying on the camera app. It lets you play around with the settings of exposure compensation and ISO. This is not recommended for novices as you will not be able to control some features like the aperture and shutter speed.

Beauty Face

It removes face blemishes like wrinkles and marks. Acts like a mini Photoshop.

Selfie Alarm

Designed for selfie lovers, it helps you take a snap of yourself using the rear camera. You draw a box on the screen and turn the rear snapper facing you. The phone gives a beep when your face fits in the box.

Shot and More

Like in the older Samsung phones, this option gives you a set of burst modes.

In addition to the above, the camera app features Panorama, Virtual Tour, Night, Virtual and Continuous Shot modes.

Other Features of the Phone

Other than the shooter, there is nothing great about the phone. It comes with a Super AMOLED screen that is just HD (1280×720 pixels). The screen is made of Corning Gorilla Glass 3 for toughness. The gadget is powered by a dual-processor Exonys chip comprising of a quad-core 1.3 GHz and a dual-core 1.7 GHZ processor. The 2 GB of RAM is sufficient to navigate through the OS fluidly. The internal memory is disappointing at only 8 GB, but you can extend it with an SD card. The phone ships in with Android 4.4.2 Kitkat. The Mali-T624 GPU lets you smoothly play even the most graphic-intense games on the PlayStore. The phones has a 2430 mAh Li-ion battery that lasts a day on moderate usage. The 2 MP front camera is decent for video chatting.

Overall, the Galaxy K Zoom is a perfect smartphone for people who love to take a snap every now and then. Its overall performance will never disappoint you.
