Mario Kart 8 First DLC Review – Exciting and Excellent Like Never Before
Before we start reviewing the new Mario Kart 8 DLC #1, one important factor has to be taken into consideration.
Unlike Sony and Microsoft, which have been releasing downloadable content and expansion packs for a while now, Nintendo is new to the scenario and their experimental first time is now out with one of their most beloved games of all time.
All it took for the Wii U to gross sales around the globe is just two games, Mario Kart 8 and Super Smash Bros which is just a couple days to go. Everything now looks cool for the company that has bumped back a bit to its former glory. Every penny you spend on this DLC is worth it because it looks good, plays great and brings some of the iconic characters to life like never before.
Legend of Zelda DLC
It is officially known as the Legend of Zelda DLC for Mario Kart 8 even though there are plenty of other characters in it. It also brings support for Amiibo figures for the game and introduces a bunch of new tracks, characters to the already exciting racing game. Starting with the nostalgic Wario’s Gold Mine track to the colorful original Yoshi’s Circuit and the addition of Rainbow Road and Ice Outpost, every track is unique in its own way and will keep you going at it for hours, without tiring out.
Other new tracks in the game include the Dragon Driftway, the Excitebike Arena and the Mute City which is strongly based on the F-Zero concept, with a lot of loops to keep you at the edge of your heels. With so many tracks to choose from, it feels more like an expansion pack than a DLC and will add up to the hours you spend playing the Mario Kart game on your Wii U console.
New Characters are Cool
There are also two new karts to race with including the Master Cycle which is a great fit for Link and there’s also another one named the Blue Falcon from the F-Zero collection. The characters are not too varied, because there’s a Tanooki Mario and two others but they allow you to have more choices while you are at the game.
The season pass should be a much better purchase, because it will also give you access to one more DLC scheduled for May next year and with it, we are sure Mario Kart 8 will be an unbeatable addition to the Wii U console.
