Reasons Why Samsung Galaxy S6 Must be Launched before the Year Ends
It is bitter to accept but Samsung had to since they realized that their Galaxy S5 wasn’t the big hit they probably expected and as it stands, many have already forgotten it and are now favoring the much advanced devices launched in the past summer and fall.
It is very important that they rush in with their release of their Samsung Galaxy S6, if not they will go to the ground at the hands of other major players in the industry such as Google and Apple. To make things even worse for Samsung, their closest and fiercest rival when it comes to this niche – Apple – recently announced that they’ll fight for the top spot as the best developer of smartphones. Whether Samsung is prepared to be among the companies that watch in envy while Apple booms is not known, but as it seems with the looming release of their latest gadget in the shape of Samsung Galaxy S6, this battle seems about to intensify.
The Success of Apple’s iPhone 6
According to reports from Apple, it is expected that their latest device, iPhone 6, will have surpassed at least 56 million sales come the end of the year. The company has plans of availing iPhone 6 gadgets in the regions of 41.7 million units while at the same time avail another 15.2 million units of iPhone 6 Plus gadgets. The iPhone 6 will sport a 4.7-inch screen display while the iPhone 6 Plus will have a 5.5-inch display screen.
Inside sources from Apple reveal that the company intends to increase its shipments towards the end of this year by over 82%. This is a huge supply of smartphones and according to the insider, the 15.2 million iPhone Plus gadgets were only limited to that number due to supply problems.
Poor Sales from Samsung Galaxy S5
In similar capacities as the iPhone 6, the Samsung Galaxy S5 is actually among the most popular phones there is. However, a recent report revealed that the sales of Galaxy S5 went down by 40% contrary to the company’s expectations. After Apple launched their iPhone 6, sales of Samsung’s Galaxy S5 started going down drastically.
What other options are within Samsung’s reach with respect to handling this problem? Well, there are two ways Samsung can counter this.
One way Samsung could use to take care of this problem is to reduce the price at which they sell the Galaxy S5. However, what this would mean is that the company will now have reduced earnings. However, there is another viable option and with this path, Samsung can regain their status in the world of smartphones.
A Quick Launch of the Samsung Galaxy S6
Rather than cut on the price of Samsung Galaxy S5, a viable option is moving quickly to launch the Samsung Galaxy S6 to compete with iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus from Apple. In order to cope with this, they’ll have to do it sooner than expected. Nevertheless, they’ll still be required to put in more efforts in order to make sure their latest release stays on par with their direct and closest competitors in the smartphone industry.
According to insider reports, it is believed that the latest update to Samsung Galaxy S6 will come as a total “reboot” of the original Samsung Galaxy flagship thanks to the new code name it comes with – Project Zero.
Most probably, Samsung Galaxy S6 will be launched during the first quarter of 2015 since it is set to be unveiled on January 6, 2015 at the CES.
