A French carrier has leaked the Android 5.0 Lollipop updates for some of the popular flagship smartphones on the market.

Fans of the Galaxy Note 4 and Galaxy S5 from Samsung, and the LG G3 now has a date by which they can expect the update to come to their handset.

Why Samsung and LG Are Slower?

Unlike Motorola, Samsung and LG are slower to deliver the Android 5.0 Lollipop update to its users. The reason is very simple. Motorola uses stock Android, which makes it easier to tinker the update to its devices. Samsung, LG and other manufacturers add their own personal touch with a special skin to the operating system. Therefore, they must spend more time testing the update and how it works with their skin.

Samsung Galaxy S5 Android 5.0 Lollipop Update

Galaxy S5 users and fans have some reasons to celebrate. Those who own a Galaxy S5 will get the update to their handset by the end of December, probably before Christmas. Santa might even come earlier. Those who are pondering to buy the S5 can be thankful that the device did not reach the expected sales. Therefore, Samsung is lowering the price of the Galaxy S5. The 5.1 inch device is a very nice handset, with tons of features and specs that can match most of the flagships on the market.

Galaxy Note 4 Delayed Update

The Samsung Galaxy Note 4 was expected to get the Android 5.0 Lollipop update by the end of December. However, the new schedule, according to the French carrier is beginning or middle of January.

LG G3 Going Global

The LG G3 is one of the most popular handsets in 2014. The company already started rolling out updates for the G3, but those were limited locally, such as the case with Poland, and in LG’s native country – Korea. The French carriers lists the update as “coming soon”, which could mean that international users of the G3 could see their phone updated to the Android 5.0 Lollipop version in the coming days.

Android 5.0 Lollipop on Other Devices

At the moment, there are few handsets that come with the Android 5.0 Lollipop installed. Such is the case with the Nexus 6 and the Nexus 9. There are also other devices that can be upgraded to the latest operating system by Google. Those are the Moto X, Moto E, Moto G, the Google play edition for HTC One 8 and One M7.
